WORCESTER DORSETS PEAK AT 1400gns
The Dorset Horn & Poll Dorset Society’s Annual Show & Sale at Worcester recorded a brisk and spirited demand particularly for females but top call of the day went to a Shearling Ram “Huish Z11384” from David Rossiter’s Devon based flock at 1400gns to WD & S Roberts, Llangefni, Angelsey.
The purchaser was also keen to purchase quality females and took home a total of 3 females, including the second prize Shearling Ewe from David Lewis’s Pembroke flock at 600gns and another Shearling Ewe from Adrian Dufosee’s Deverill flock at 260gns.
Les French’s trip from Cornwall with a strong consignment of females from his Wilsey flock was well worth selling, 2 of the top prices in the female section – The Champion in the Pre-Sale Show levelled at 540gns for a Shearling Ewe carrying twins secured by David Lewis, Narberth, Pembs.
Another shearling ewe carrying triplets sold to 500gns to John Breare, Northampton.

Joe Larder’s Byeways consignment in the shearling ewe section found favour with 2 Shearling ewes selling both at 300gns to A Baker, Llanidloes, Powys.

Ram lambs were a selective trade but rallied to achieve 500gns for David Rossiter’s Second prize winner to G Jones, Ystrad Meurig, Ceredigion.
